(Brentwood, NY) Nassau Men's Soccer hit the road to take on the Suffolk Community College Sharks under the Friday night lights. The Lions were coming off of a 3 game winning streak, and were ready to add this as their 4th.
Suffolk came out hot, and got the ball off first. About 25 minutes into the game, they managed to sneak past the defenders, and find the back of the net - putting them up 1-0.Â
The Lions answered that goal just before halftime to tie up the score 1-1! It was a fairly physical battle back and forth with a few yellow cards thrown for both teams and numerous fouls called. At 90 minutes, the score was still tied, and they went into overtime - thus enabling sudden death.Â
Within the first few minutes of OT,
Luis Chaverra got the game winning goal on a free kick! The Lions took the final victory 2-1. Overall the Lions had 7 shots on goal and 2 saves.
Up next, NCC takes on Westchester Community College this weekend. Don't forget to tune in for the game!
