Collegiate athletics is a critical co-curricular learning experience. In fulfilling this mission, NCC Athletics affirms the following guiding principles in alignment with the College and the SUNY Strategic Plan.
- Provide experiences conducive to the athletic, academic, and developmental success of our student-athletes, helping to shape and inspire well-rounded citizens in the process. We commit to creating supportive and challenging experiences to prepare and empower our student-athletes as learners, leaders, and competitors.
- Support and strengthen student success outcomes including academic persistence, degree completion, and transfer to four-year colleges or universities.
- Compete for championships and national prominence.
- Attract, retain, and develop high-quality student-athletes committed to learning, developing, and contributing to their individual, team, and program success.
- Attract, retain, and develop high-quality dedicated coaches to ensure the maximum development of our student-athletes. NCC coaches will reinforce the values and work ethic vital to team, individual, and program success.
- Adapt. Improve. Overcome – all while maintaining internal integrity. We strive to do the right thing, even when no one is looking, even if we will receive no credit for doing so. We are Nassau.
- Cultivate an overall experience that promotes diversity, gender equality and inclusivity, compliance, good sportsmanship, and integrity. Value each student-athlete for their individual and collective abilities and efforts that enhance the overall quality of our program.

- Amplify the NCC brand. Our athletics programs will benefit the College in a profoundly positive manner by raising the institutional profile, reputation, and visibility.
- Cultivate the NCC Athletics family by maintaining relationships with alumni and encouraging student-athlete and program support including financial contributions, endowments, mentorship, career guidance, recruitment, advocacy, publicity, and attendance at games and events.
