(Brooklyn, NY) The Nassau Community College Women's Soccer team secured another win against a hard fought competitor, Fashion Institute of Technology. Both teams battled back and forth for ninety minutes, but it was the Lady Lions that came out on top with a 1-0 win. Late in the first half with about five minutes left on the clock, freshman Nathalie Garcia took a corner kick for the Lions. For the second straight game, sophomore and captain Diana Lemus scored the game-winning goal off of a header from Garcia. Lemus controlled the center of the field, distributing and defending. The girls created many scoring opportunities but both teams went scoreless in the second half and fought for the entirety of the game. The defense stayed solid and composed with Lisa Maybie, Julia Fazio, Brienna Sullivan and Maya Jones protecting the back line. The Lady Lions will take on Brookdale Community College on Thursday, September 13th at 4:00 pm.
