(Garden City, NY) It was windy and overcast on Friday night as the Men's Soccer team suited up to take on nationally ranked #5 Bunker Hill.
It was a back and forth game as both teams fought for the lead. Bunker Hill scored first on a penalty kick, but
Pantelis Konomis for Nassau managed to find the back of the net with a header and tie the game before the end of the first half.
Coming back from half time, Bunker Hill took the lead on a cross shot finished with a header. Nassau's
Carlos Martinez came back to tie the score for a second time on a similar play only 3 minutes later. It was Jason Cruz who seized the victory in the 89th minute for the Lions with a perfect touch and finish in the box. The final score was 3-2.
Head Coach
Dan Fisher commented, "I'm happy the team came back after going down a goal twice. The team kept battling against an experienced and very organized nationally ranked team."
Catch the Lions back in action on Sunday against Genesee at home.
