Kristopher Ketchum took home the prestigious Division III Most Outstanding Wrestler Award at the 2024 NJCAA National Wrestling Championships held March 1-2.
Nassau Community College competed in an all-division bracket consisting of wrestlers representing NJCAA Divisions I and III, and Ketchum was the only Division III wrestler to qualify for a final.
Ketchum took down three Division I competitors on his way to the 157-division championship bout, where he was defeated by Iowa Central's (D-I) Darnai Heard. Ketchum helped power NCC to a second-place finish (64 points) among Division III schools. Rochester (84 points) placed first.
At last year's national championship, Ketchum placed third in the 149-division. Nassau was crowned Division III champion.
