I started as a junior HS coach, HS. Varsity coach and 30 years of Junior Olympic travel ball. I was the pitching coach at two D2 schools, Molloy and Queens. On the D1 level, I was the pitching coach at St.John's U. and Manhattan College. Danielle Henderson of the 2000 gold winning Olympic team was one of my players. I also coach the Zurich Challengers in Switzerland for one summer. My 9 and 10 year olds from New Hyde Park won the Eastern Little League Reginals and went on to the World Series final 8 in Oregon. My hobbies include golf and I am a handicapper of race horses having entered many contests over the years. One of my favorite quotes comes from Vince Lombardi, " The Green Bay Packers never lose a game, but now and then we run out of time." Â My team won an arch ball National title when I was a player so I always had the desire to win and the work ethic to bolster the talents I was given. Oh, by the way, I never wanted to coach girls I just did a friend a favor. That favor has lasted 40 years. Who knew? Monte
Achievements:Â I went to the Denver Softball Firecracker Tournament on two separate occasion. It is the largest tournament and most prestigious tournament held in the US. All D1 pitchers and hundreds of D1 coaches attend. My teams were 8-3 one year and 7-3 the second time. We were a combined 15-6 because I prepared my team to beat teams that were better than us on paper and because my players bought into my game plans.
