Thomas Anson

Head Coach Thomas Anson brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for soccer to our program. 

A proud graduate of Sachem North High School, Coach Anson excelled in soccer, earning All-County honors in 1993 and 1994, and was named All-State, team captain, and MVP in 1994. He continued his impressive career at Iona College, where he played Division 1 soccer from 1995 to 1996. During his time at Iona, he contributed to the team's conference finals appearance in 1994 and was recognized as MAAC Player of the Week in October 1995.

Coach Anson furthered his collegiate soccer career at SUNY New Paltz, playing Division 3 from 1997 to 1998. His standout performances earned him All-Conference honors in both years, and he was also named All-Region, team captain, and MVP in 1998. Coach Anson holds SUNY New Paltz school records in save percentage and ranks in the top five for saves and shutouts.

Transitioning to coaching, Coach Anson has made a significant impact at Sachem High School East, serving as the Varsity Soccer Head Coach from 2015 to 2023. Under his leadership, the team secured five League Championships and one County Championship in 2020. He has been recognized as League Coach of the Year three times and was honored as Suffolk County Coach of the Year in 2020.

Currently, Coach Anson teaches high school math at Sachem High School East and is also making strides with the South Shore Futbol Club, where he has been the Head Coach since 2023.
