(Garden City, NY) The Women's Soccer Team took on the Suffolk Community College Sharks in the Region XV NJCAA Semi Finals last Wednesday. It was a perfect day for a match as it was 75 and sunny. Going into their first game of the tournament the women had won 11 of their last 13 games, and were feeling ultra confident about Suffolk, who they had taken down twice before during the regular season. 

The Lions came out strong, and dominated the ball from the first kick off. The first goal was scored within the first 10 minutes by Lisa Maybie, and assisted by Diana Lemus. From there, the Lions were unstoppable. There were multiple shots on goal, and multiple opportunities to score. Score for the first half was 1-0. 

Starting off the second half, Hannah Woodward took an assist from Ashley Esposito, and booted it into the back of the goal. Woodward took control, and scored the next two goals off of breakaways down the center of the field, and went 1 on 1 with the goalie. NCC was now up 4-0. Going into the final minutes of the game, Diana Lemus found Kayla Murphy just outside the goalie box, who smashed the ball into the back of the net. The Lions were victorious finishing 5-0.

Nassau will take on #3 ranked FIT Tigers this weekend at home in Garden City as they compete in the NJCAA Region XV Finals.
