(Arnold, MD) It was a wet weekend down in Maryland, and rain was the theme again as the Lions took on #5 Anne Arundel Community College for their second game in as many days.
Sophomore Pat Morris started the Lions off just 15 seconds into the first quarter with his first of two goals on the day.
Dylan Villari scored a minute and a half later to make the score 2-0. Anne Arundel answered at the 10 minute mark to make the score 2-1. Nassau dominated offensive possession in the first half and were getting great looks, but could not finish going 4 for 24 shooting. Villari and Morris scored another goal each late in the second quarter to make the score 4-1 going into the half.
The Lions opened up the second half by scoring three goals in the third quarter, Villari netting his third of the game, while freshmen
Aldrich Cheng and
Danny Pulis notching a goal each.
Eddie Munoz and
Evan Killen opened up the fourth quarter with a goal each to cap the five goal run and make the score 9-1 with 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter. The defense held Anne Arundel scoreless for a remarkable 47 minute time frame between the 1st and 4th quarter.
Anne Arundel showed some life by answering with 3 goals of their own to make the score 9-4 with six minutes left in the 4th, but Nassau would stave off the comeback by adding another 2 goals, one from Cheng and another from
Jack Mullen, both with under 5 minutes left to make the score 11-4. Nassau added a late extra-man goal by Pulis, his second of the game, to make the score 12-4.
The defense had another stout performance for the second day in a row.
Billy Kelly was outstanding in the cage yet again with 12 saves . Leading the back line on defense were
