Nassau Comeback Attempt Falls Short Against Suffolk CC

(Garden City, NY) The Suffolk Sharks came out ready to play on Wednesday against the Nassau Lions.
 
The game was neck and neck from the beginning. The Lions found themselves down 3-0 in the first period, but fought their way back to tie up the game. Danielle Keener, Yenifer Molina, Julianne Avazis, and Barbara Nictas all scored 1 goal each. Danielle Preattle had a standout game scoring 3 goals in a row. 
 
Sarah Russo and Ryan Burmann's defensive game really gave the Lions the extra edge they needed to compete. However, the Lions came up just a bit short and fell to Suffolk 8-7.
 
Head Coach Maria Varricchio commented, "We have come a long way from our first few games. I feel like the team is meshing together well, and I couldn't be more excited to see where the rest of the season takes us.
 
Next up for the Lions is Howard Community College on Sunday.
