(Garden City, NY) Last night, Women's Basketball competed against the Westchester Vikings in their last regular season game of the 2018-2019 season.

From the start, Nassau came out with an aggressive defense. They held the Vikings to only 11 points, while they pulled away with 28. Nassau started out the 3rd quarter with a run sparked by Lindsay McBean who scored lay-ups on consecutive possessions. The run was perfectly followed by a 3 pointer from Briana Jones. The Lions ran away with the win finishing 85-56.

"Westchester is a very physical team, but we did a great job of rising to that challenge. We were able to match their initial intensity, as well as sustain our own throughout the game. Ashley Barret was the outstanding player of the evening with 20 points and 20 rebounds.

Nassau ends the regular season with an overall record of 24-5. Â They rank second in the NJCAA DIII standings behind Hostos. Next up for the Lions will be the Region XV tournament. Exact dates and game times are to be determined.
