(East Meadow, NY) This past Sunday, the Nassau Men's Tennis team competed in two matches. The first was against inner region rival, the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).
Starting off with singles, Nassau only lost one match. FIT had a strong first singles player, who brought the heat to an aggressive match. The Lions kept their confidence going into the doubles matches with a 4-1 lead under their belt.
Freshman
Sean Althaus, who is normally strictly a singles player, teamed up with
Angel Lugo as a first doubles pair. They made FIT work for every point. The duo dominated and clenched the win. Second and third doubles followed suit and also came out victorious. The overall score was 8-1, Nassau.
Assistant Coach Lin Ochoa commented, "We are happy to bring in another solid win. It was an amazing day to play tennis with no weather variables, which can be few and far between this time of year. We are extremely proud of the players who brought their A game in every match."
Next up for the Lions is Kingsborough CC at 2:30 PM ET.
