The Lions headed into the Montgomery College Holiday Tournament to face hosts the Montgomery College Raptors. Both the Lions and the Raptors headed into this tournament having lost two out of their last three games so they both looked to turn their luck around and utilize this tournament to get back into their winning ways. The first quarter of this matchup saw both of these teams come out defensively solid, The Lions were able to record 4 steals with a total of 6 turnovers against the Raptors as they were able to end the first quarter with a two point lead (18-16). The second quarter saw much of the same as the first with the Lions playing sound basketball having attacked the basket and getting to the free throw line 13 times in the second quarter alone. The Lions offensive attack and being able to get to the free throw line added to the Lions lead going into halftime (37-29). The Lions were led in the first half offensively by
Keyshawn Kennedy who had recorded 11 points alongside his 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. The third quarter saw Montgomery bounce back on both ends of the court as they limited the Lions shots opportunities from the field as the Lions only record a total of 9 shots with no 3-point attempts. This was shown as they outscored the Lions in the third quarter 19-13 closing the gap on the Lions lead to only 2 points as the total score to 50-48 going into the 4th quarter. With the Lions only up by 2 points entering the 4th quarter they were able to lock in and put the game away, as they managed to score 31 points even though Montgomery was able to 26 of their own points. The difference came from the Lions capability to relentlessly attack the basket drawing fouls and making clutch free throws as they were able to record 24 free throw attempts connecting on 19 of them en route winning the game by a final score of 81-74. Some outstanding performances were by
Keyshawn Kennedy who led the Lions with scoring a total of 22 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals having shot 16-19 from the free throw line.
