(Garden City, NY) Nassau Men's Soccer held their 2021 season home opener on Wednesday hosting conference rival Suffolk. History has it that the Lions have won the last 3 match ups against the Sharks.
From the beginning, it was a battle. Both teams were scoreless through the first half even with decent views on goal. The second half was similar with a number of shots on goal but nothing materialized. At the end of regulation, the score was tied. The game went into overtime and the Sharks found the back of the net before the Lions had a chance. The final score was 1-0.
Head Coach
Dan Fisher commented, "Our team played well in the first game of the season and just fell short in over time. It was a great effort by all the men. We will be rested and ready come Saturday."
The Lions will hit the road to take on Monroe College JV this weekend. The game is at 7 PM ET on Saturday, April 10th.
