The Nassau Community College men's soccer team defeated Borough of Manhattan Community College by a score of 3-0 in the Region XV Semifinal on Wednesday evening. The Lions advance to the Region XV Championship on Saturday, November 2nd against the #6 seed Suffolk County Community College.

How it happened

• Marc Augustin, Nassau's leading scorer, found the back of the net half way through the first, finishing a cross from Joseph Lopez with a header past the goalkeeper.
• After a 1-0 score at halftime, Matteo Kanakaros gave the Lions a two goal lead in the 54th minute on a set piece from 25 yards out.
• In the 61st minute of play, David Lamour played long ball from midfield that found Marc Augustin in the box who scored on another header.
• Goalkeeper Ford Balde had three saves for his fifth win of the season.
• Both teams played a close contest with 12 shots each, but the Lions were able to put nine shots on goal compared to three by the Panthers.
