Nassau Community College Director of Athletics Kerri Ann McTiernan announced the appointment of Thomas Anson as head coach of the institution's women's soccer program on Wednesday.

Anson arrives at NCC from Sachem High School East, where he teaches math and served as varsity girls soccer coach from 2016 to 2023.

In eight seasons leading the Sachem East program, Anson produced five league championships and a Suffolk County title in 2020. He was the Suffolk County Coach of the Year in 2020 and earned League Coach of the Year accolades on three occasions.

Before heading the girls program at Sachem East, Anson served as an assistant coach from 2013 to 2015 and JV boys head coach from 2004 to 2012.

Anson played two seasons at NCAA Division I Iona University in 1995 and 1996 before transferring to Division III SUNY New Paltz. He served as team captain and earned All-Region and All-Conference accolades during his two years at New Paltz.
