Result

The Nassau Community College women's volleyball team swept Queensborough Community College for a Region XV conference win Thursday evening. Nassau currently stands at #14 in the nation.

How it Happened

• Nassau got off to a quick start taking a 10-5 lead to begin the first set. The momentum continued as the Lions went on a five point run later in the set to lead 20-12, before closing out the set 25-17.
• Queensborough held the lead early on in the second set before Nassau tied the score 7-7. Both teams continued to trade points and later were tied 21-21. Nassau then went on a 4-1 run to take set two.
• An 8-0 scoring run in the third set helped the Lions take the early lead in set three, but the Tigers put up a fight following with six straight points. Nassau took the third set by a score of 25-22 to close out the match.

Notes

• Sarah Kollarik led the Lions with nine kills, along with eight digs.
• Setter Elizabeth Wagner totaled 19 assists, with four kills and 12 digs.
• Libero Allison Salinas led the team in digs with 19, and three service aces.
