Men's Soccer Holds Off BMCC

Result

The #5 Nassau Community College men's soccer team held off the Borough of Manhattan Community College Panthers in a tight match on Tuesday evening.

How it happened

  • Kyriakos Katehis opened the scoring early on to give Nassau a 1-0 lead in the second minute. After Joseph Lopez took a shot on goal that was saved, Katehis took control of the loose ball rebound to find the back of the net.
  • In the 13th minute of play a cross from Joseph Lopez found the head of Marco Russo to give Nassau a 2-0 lead.
  • The Panthers scored a goal in the 59th minute to cut the lead in half, but Nassau was able to hold onto the lead.
  • Goalkeeper Bryan Hernandez totaled nine saves to secure the win.
