The Nassau Community College women's volleyball team advanced to the Region XV Semifinals with a 3-1 victory over LaGuardia Community College on Thursday night. The Lions overcame a slow start with strong serving, defense, and balanced hitting to take down LaGuardia and move on in the postseason. Behind Miller's all-around performance and Pierre-Saint's dominance at the net, Nassau punched its ticket to the Region XV Semifinals.

Set 1 (22-25): LaGuardia opened the night strong, taking advantage of Nassau attack errors to edge the Lions in the opening frame. Despite a late push featuring three straight kills from Marlei Johnson, Nassau came up short 25-22.

Set 2 (25-16): The Lions quickly regrouped, dominating from the service line as Jocelyn Teel fired off back-to-back aces early in the set. Rhianna Miller took control at the net with five kills and a .500 hitting percentage, while Alexandra Pierre-Saint added three kills and two blocks as Nassau evened the match.

Set 3 (25-11): Nassau turned in its most dominant set of the match, hitting .355 as a team. Alanice Rios served four straight points, including two aces, during a decisive 10-1 run. Miller and Pierre-Saint combined for eight kills in the frame, while libero Jenna Ramlogan anchored the defense with nine digs.

Set 4 (25-21): The Lions closed out the match in a back-and-forth final set. After LaGuardia tied the score at 15, Nassau responded with a 6-1 run fueled by kills from Miller, Johnson, and Kayla Foreste. Teel's pinpoint setting and Rios's clutch service ace helped the Lions secure the 25-21 clincher and advance to the semifinals.
