Result

The Nassau Community College men's basketball team defeated Rockland Community College in a non-conference game by a score of 55-54 on Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened

• Rockland took the lead early on and started the game with a 9-0 run. Nassau went scoreless for the first five minutes until Donte Howard knocked down a three-pointer. The Lions quickly scored 11 unanswered points of their own to take the lead. Nassau held the lead going into half time with the score at 25-20.
• The second half saw many lead changes and tie scores early on, but Nassau never relinquished the lead after going up 34-31 with 12:57 remaining.
• Rockland hit a three-pointer with four seconds remaining to trail 55-54. A  foul with .7 seconds on the clock sent Rockland to the free-throw line, but the Hawks missed both chances.

Notes

• Donte Howard led Nassau with 24 points. He added three blocks, three assists, and three steals.
• Aidan Smith scored seven points with four rebounds and two assists.
• Isaiah Lariosa, Austin Wrynn, and Adrian Rosario each contributed six points in the win.

Nassau plays at Monroe University - Bronx on Tuesday, February 18th at 8 PM in the final Region XV conference game of the regular season.
