Coach Hailey Hnis brings the experience of a Division I collegiate athlete and a passion for player development to our program.
A proud graduate of General Douglas MacArthur High School, Coach Hnis was a three-year varsity standout, recording 54 goals over her career. She earned Class-A Conference Player of the Year, All-State, All-County, and All-Long Island honors, and was part of the 2019 Class A and County Championship teams. At the club level, she played for SUSA G04 in the 2021 Northeast ECNL Conference and for FC Fury, where she was named Attacking Player of the Year in 2019.
Coach Hnis continued her career at the University at Albany, where she competed as a Division I scholarship athlete for the Women's Soccer team, playing primarily as a midfielder and forward. She graduated with a degree in Childhood and Special Education and a 3.95 GPA, and was recognized as an America East Presidential Scholar-Athlete and National College Athlete Honor Society member. She was also awarded the Malcolm E. Blum '54 School of Education Scholarship.
Currently, Coach Hnis works as a building substitute teacher in North Merrick, supporting students in both general and special education settings. She looks forward to bringing her experience as a collegiate player and her passion for soccer to the coaching staff, helping athletes grow both on and off the field.
