Darwin volunteered for a year before he began his career as an Athletic Trainer here at Nassau Community College in 2006. It was his first job after graduating from Dominican College in Blauvelt, NY. He was the first Latino American to graduate in 2006 from the Athletic Training program there after the college received its accreditation of the program. After 3 years at NCC, He worked in various settings. From Physical Therapy outreach programs to working at the United States Naval Academy for several summers, to professional baseball. His recent achievement was being awarded Athletic Trainer of the Year for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2016 for the Dominican Summer League. He returned home to NCC in 2016 as the Head Athletic Trainer.
