Hall of Fame
The Nassau Community College athletic program has a long and successful history celebrating a tradition of producing champions on the field of competition and in the completion of life. Yearly, the College has produced championship teams in lacrosse, football, golf and others. In 2013 the wrestling team, again, won national championship honors. For more than 50 years, the programs in the athletic department have proven to be an essential part of the institutional fabric of the College. Our coaching staff and others who work with our student athletes do a superb job in mentoring, coaching, and tutoring students to be successful. In fact, it can be said that we place as much value on winning in the field of life as we do in winning on the field of athletic competition. We salute all those who labor on behalf of the College's athletic initiatives.Â
Our appreciation goes to all of those students who participate in one or more of our comprehensive sports program. The student gives time in practice and preparation as well as representing the College in competition. It isn't easy trying to balance sports activities and doing well academically, yet most of our students succeed in doing both. To date 108 former student athletes have been inducted into our Athletic Hall of Fame. The inductees came from as far away as California, Texas, Iowa, Florida, and elsewhere, many along with their spouses and children, to share in the celebration of being named to the NCC Hall of Fame.Â
