(Columbia, MD) The Nassau Lions traveled to Columbia, MD to compete in the Howard Community College Dragon Invitational last Friday.
Their first opponent was NJCAA Division I Chesapeake College. The Lions were coming off of their first loss of the season, but were able to bounc back in the first half against the Skipjacks. NCC held an 18 point lead heading into halftime, 42-24. Sophomore

Cheyenne Nettleton led all scorers with 8 points each.
The Skipjacks weren't giving up that easily, and came back strong in the second half. They managed to cut the lead by 1 point with less than a minute remaining. Jalen Burgess and Nettleton secured the win after being fouled and making both free throws. The Lions won 76-71.Â
Leading scorer for Nassau was
Cheyenne Nettleton with 23 points, 15 of which were scored in the 2nd half. Cameron Winston tallied 13 points, while Thomas Agnew led Chesapeake College with 19.
The Lions are set to take on Frederick Community College on Saturday to continue their journey in the Howard Dragon Invitational.
