(Columbia, MD) To pick up where we left off, NCC Volleyball was waiting to play the Semi-Finals of the Howard Invitational in Columbia, Maryland. They were taking on the Community College of Rhode Island. The Lions felt strong going into this game, as they had already competed and defeated the Knights once that day.
The first game was extremely close. The Lions missed a few key shots, and lost by 2 finishing 25-23. The second set wasn't as close as NCC had hoped. They fell 25-17. With only one set left to keep their streak alive, the Lions gave everything they had. Unfortunately, it just wasn't enough this time around. NCC lost a close third game 25-23.
"Although we didn't have the outcome we wanted for the tournament, we had some excellent wins and I feel like the team is really starting to gel together. We are extremely optimistic as we move forward with the season" stated Head Coach
Kristine Abrams after the game.Â
Although the Lions didn't win the tournament -
Kiara Tibbs was rewarded for making the All-Tournament team. In the semi-finals game, Tibbs had 10 kills and 4 perfect blocks. Congratulations, Kiara!
