(Cortland, NY) With a quick turnaround from the Ithaca meet, the Men's Wrestling Team prepared again for battle against SUNY-Cortland on their home mats.
The Lions came out blazing.
John Arceri in 141 lbs,
Chris Meloni in 149 lbs, and
Michael Abidin in 174 lbs all came out victorious.
Jonathan Solorzano had a grueling match with Zach Gifford in 285. They went for multiple rounds without an outright winner. They went into overtime, where unfortunately, Solorzano couldn't hold on, and lost 1-3.
Out of a total of 7 matches, NCC won 3 and had one go into overtime. The overall score was 13-34. Again the Lions were forced for forfeit 125, 184, and 197 weight classes.

Paul Schmidt noted after the matches had concluded that, "The team wrestled well against a quality opponent. We will be ready for the District Championships in a few weeks after we rest and learn from our matches here today."
NCC will compete in the District Championships on February 10
th at home in Garden City.
