Box Score (Garden City, NY) Four Lions scored in double digits as Nassau grabbed its 21st game of the season as it defeated Rockland CC, 99-52. The Lions brought their season record to 21-4 and 15-3 in conference play.
Jalen Burgess led the Lions in scoring with 23 points. He went 10-13 from the field and 3-3 from 3-point range. He also recorded three steals.
Cameron Winston finished with 21 points and five rebounds.
Ty-ler Banks led all bench scorers with 16 points, scoring 12 in the second half. He also grabbed seven rebounds.
Jordan Lee registered 10 points.
Divine Cesar led Rockland CC with 27 point. Frederick Squires also contributed to the Hawks with nine points.
Nassau jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. The Lions took a 21-point lead into halftime. The domination continued in the second half as Nassau outscored the Hawks 56-30. All 12 Nassau players saw action in the game.
Nassau shot 60 percent from the field in the game including 38 percent from 3-point range. Rockland shot 42 percent from the field.
When asked how a win like this helps the team's morale, Coach Wynder said, "Games like this keep momentum as we continue to prepare for regionals."
The Lions will play their next game at Monroe College-Bronx on February 15.
