Lions Shutout the Broncos

(Garden City, NY) Andrew Williams threw a gem on Thursday for Nassau Community College Lions Varsity, allowing zero runs and besting Bronx CC by a score of 8-0

Nassau Community College Lions Varsity secured the victory thanks to six runs in the second inning.  The big inning was thanks to walks by Brian Perez and Mike Iacobellis, a single by Vinny Napolitano, a fielder's choice by TJ Toscano, and an error on a ball put in play by Ali Ghriaz.

Nassau Community College Lions Varsity got on the board in the first inning.  Toscano's sac fly scored one run for Nassau Community College Lions Varsity.

Nassau Community College Lions Varsity put up six runs in the second inning.  Nassau Community College Lions Varsity offense in the inning was led by Napolitano, Toscano, Perez, Iacobellis, and Ghriaz, all knocking in runs in the inning.

One bright spot for Bronx CC was a single by Raudy Acosta in the fourth inning.

Williams was the winning pitcher for Nassau Community College Lions Varsity. He lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and zero runs while striking out six and walking zero.

Michael Russell took the loss for Bronx CC. He surrendered seven runs on two hits over one and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

Napolitano, John Capozzoli, and Ghriaz each collected one hit to lead Nassau Community College Lions Varsity.  Nassau Community College Lions Varsity didn't commit a single error in the field. Iacobellis had the most chances in the field with seven.
