(Garden City, NY) The Nassau Community College Women's soccer team took on Holyoke Community College for the home opener of the 2018 season. The ladies walked away with a 2-1 win from a thrilling overtime victory. Maraya Jones led the team as our goalkeeper, making crucial saves and keeping the defense organized and in control. The two teams remained 0-0 at half time. Within five minutes into the second half, freshman Nataly Ramirez found the back of the net to put the Lady Lions up 1-0. With just three minutes left in the second half Holyoke recovered and equalized. The two teams headed into overtime fatigued after battling for ninety hard minutes. The Lady Lions finished on top when sophomore Karla Panameno sent a flawless ball into the box and captain Diana Lemus had the game-winning header to make the girls 1-0 at home. The girls will take on Fashion Institute of Technology at Kingsborough Community College on September 8^th at 1:00 PM.
