(Garden City, NY) Nassau Lions Baseball kicked off their 5th game of the 2019 season against ASA at home. They were coming off of a loss against Spoon River College the week before and were looking for this game to turn around their luck.
Unfortunately for the Lions, ASA dominated from the beginning. They scored 8 runs in the 5th inning alone to pull away from NCC.
On the mound for Nassau was
Andrew Williams. He surrendered 5 runs on 6 hits over 3 innings. He struck out 6 batters and walked 1. Andrew Ammazoloroso and
Conor Jacoby came in as relief, throwing 2 innings and then 1 inning, respectively. ASA came away victorious 14-3.
John Capozzoli went 2 for 3 at the plate to lead NCC in hits. ASA racked up 16 hits total with 6 of their players recording multiple contacts with the ball.
