(Garden City, NY) On Tuesday night the Nassau Women's Volleyball team hosted conference rival Suffolk CC at home. This was their first conference game of the season.
The Lions struggled to find their footing in the first set and the Sharks took advantage winning 25-18. In the second set,
Joanna Weissler and Rachel LeFave really stepped up to take on the leader role. Weissler covered the floor with great defense, while LeFave's energy was contagious with the rest of the team. It was a close set, but the Lions just couldn't finish the job and lost 21-25. NCC was burnt out by the third set, and only scored 15 points, allowing Suffolk to secure the victory, 3-0.
Head Coach
Kristine Abrams commented, "This was a game of whoever made more mistakes lost, and unfortunately, tonight that was us. If as a team we can fix the little things and minimize the small errors, we can start earning our own points. We have some work to do before Friday, but I believe these women will learn from their mistakes."
Nassau is back in action on Friday night against Nova in New Rochelle, New York.
