Game Recap: Women's Volleyball | | Maria Paolillo

Volleyball Takes Some Knocks with a Multiple Double Header Weekend

(New Rochelle, NY ) Nassau Volleyball was busy over the weekend with 4 games in 2 days. They kicked things off with a double header on Friday night. 

First up, Nassau went head to head with Northern Virginia CC. The Lions got off to a bit of a slow start, losing the first set 11-25. They fought back in the second set, but came up short, finishing 16-25. The third set came out to 9-25, giving the 0-3 victory to Northern Virginia. Nassau's Joanna Weissler recorded 11 digs, while Julia Turbe tallied 6 assists.

Central Florida CC was up next. The Lions really struggled in this set falling in all 3 games. The Lions ended 0-2 for the day.

On Saturday, NCC went up against St. John River. The Lions went (7-25), (11-25), (10-25), securing the win for St. John River Vikings.

The last match of the weekend was against Catawba Valley CC. Nassau put up a solid fight, but wasn't able to reign in a win. The went (7-25), (9-25), (12-25) and 0-3 overall. Abigail Kavanaugh recorded 4 digs, while teammate Olivia Burns had 6 assists.

The Lions will be back in action on Thursday as they compete against Monroe College at home.
