(Brooklyn, NY) It was windy and overcast on Thursday night at Kingsborough's home soccer pitch in Brooklyn. But the Lions didn't shy away from strapping on their cleats and giving their conference rival a run for their money.
Opening up the first half, Nassau got on the board early making the game 1-0. Nassau's defense held The Wave from scoring and going into halftime, the game was still 1-0.
Jason Cruz set the tempo early in the second half by scoring 2 quick goals, to put the Lions up 3-0. Kingsborough did manage to find the back of the net to make the score 3-1. But Nassau responded and was able to sneak in another goal to really secure their win 4-1.
Jason Cruz had an outstanding game, ending with 2 goals and 1 assist.
"It's always good to win on the road in a touch environment." stated Head Coach
Dan Fisher after the victory. "But we have another game on Saturday, so we need to make sure we keep looking ahead at what's next."
The Lions will be back home on Saturday where they will take on Monroe CC.
