Box Score (Garden City, NY) Over the weekend, the Nassau Men's Soccer team hosted Division I Junior College Monroe at home.
It was a battle for both the offense and the defense from the start. There were a few close conversions, but both teams remained scoreless in the first half. It wasn't until 10 minutes into the second half that JP Rodriguez opened up the scoring for the Lions. Rodriguez scored 2 goals to lead the team to a 4-0 victory. Another notable player was Freshman Angrlot George, who had his first college start by anchoring mid-field. He played the full 90 minutes.
"Every game brings us further improvements. We are still working on coming together as a collective group, but I thought today was a good win against an impressive Division I team." stated Head Coach
Dan Fisher post-game.
The Lions have now won their past 6 of 6 games. They will look to continue that win streak on Wednesday as they take on Suffolk CC on the road.
