(Garden City, NY) On Saturday, Women's Soccer went head to head with Sussex County CC at home.
Nassau came out strong in the first half. They were able to quickly get the ball past the Sussex defense, allowing Forward
Nicole Alfonsi to put the Lions first goal in the back of the net. But Sussex didn't give up easily. They were able to break through the Nassau defense and score 2 goals of their own. Forward
Hannah Woodward finished off the first half with the Lions second goal to even out the score 2-2.
The second half was not as positive for the Lions. The defense wasn't able to stop Sussex from 2 additional goals. The final score was 4-2, Sussex.
Head Coach
Chris Megaloudis commented after the game, "Despite the loss, we are happy with the final results of the game. Although it wasn't a win, I am proud of the women and how they fought to the very last minute."
The Lions will be back at it on Tuesday as they prepare to take on Brookdale.Â
