(Garden City, NY) Men's Soccer hosted conference rival Queensborough at home on Tuesday night.
In the first half Queensborough jumped to the lead with a penalty kick, making the score 1-0. It wasn't until the second half that the Lions really turned up the heat.
Jose Flores and
Jelson Bonilla both scored within the first 10 minutes of the half to officially take the lead and they didn't look back. The Lions shut down the Tigers 6-2. Nassau has now won the last 10 straight match ups against the Queensborough.
"This was a good region win against a quality, well-coached Queensborough team." Head Coach
Dan Fisher commented. "We have challenged our men physically and mentally early on with a tough preseason and I can tell that we are really starting to come together as a group."
Next up for the Lions is Bunker Hill at home on Friday night.
