(Bronx, NY) On Tuesday night, the Nassau Women's Basketball team hit the road to compete against #5 ranked, defending National Champions, Hostos CC.

From the beginning, the competition was neck and neck. Both the Lions and the Caimans fought for every loose ball and every point. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 15-14, Nassau. Hostos found their stride and started to pull away just before halftime leaving the score 30-35 as both teams headed into the locker room.

Nassau came back from the half with an intense defense that helped them go on a 12-2 run and take the lead. The score was 51-50 going into the fourth quarter. NCC was able to stay just ahead of the Caimans and pull out their 14th consecutive victory this season 75-71.

Outstanding players of the game consisted of Bobbi Green, who attributed 18 points and 9 rebounds. Giavanna Faison scored 15 points and 8 rebounds, while Lindsay McBean finished with a total of 10 points.

Head Coach Brian Kuar commented, "We are really proud of our women for stepping up to the challenge today on the road. They consistently give great effort every day whether its practice or a game, and it shows in our season record."

The team will travel to Warwick, Rhode Island on Saturday to play in the CCRI Invitational.
