(Brooklyn, NY) On Tuesday, February 2nd, the #6 ranked Nassau Men's Basketball team went up against Kingsborough on the road.
The Lions jumped out to a 10 point lead early on in the first quarter, making the score 19-9. Their combination of protective defense and aggressive offense made The Wave no match for the Nassau. Guards
Kobe Howlett and
Sahdique Watkins led the team with a few key runs to help them pull away from The Wave. Howlett went 4 for 7 from 3-point range and had 14 points in the first half. Watkins also tallied a total of 14 points and added 3 steals to contribute to a 69-35 halftime lead.
Nassau continued to press in the second half and didn't stop to look back. The Lions hit triple digits going into the fourth quarter and finished the game 125-71.
Patrick Gardner stepped up recording 14 points in the second half, while teammate
Ahunna Okoko wasn't far behind him with 12. They finished the game with 19 and 17 points, respectively.
Overall, Howlett led Nassau in scoring with 23 points. Watkins finished the game with 18 points, 6 assists and 6 steals.
Michael Moreno had the third most points on the team with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lions are on a 10 game win streak with an overall record of 18-3. Next up, Nassau will play Suffolk County on Thursday.
