The Lions traveled to Warwick Rhode Island for the CCRI Invitational where they would take on the hosts, the Rhode Island Knights in the opening game. With this game being against the host team it was essentially an away game for the Lions and the Knights utilized their home court advantage in the first half outscoring the Lions 36-32. The Lions were down however not out and they showed that in the second half where they were able to score 38 points and limit the Rhode Island team to only 31. Thus, taking the lead as well as the victory with a final score of 70-67. The Lions had 5 players contribute double digit scoring efforts in this victory, we had
Ahunna Okoko with 15 points as well as 8 rebounds,
Keyshawn Kennedy with 10 points,
Darius Young with 14 points 4 rebounds and 3 steals to go with his scoring output,
Sahdique Watkins with 10 points and 3 steals as well, and off the bench
Shabue Mosley with 11 points and 4 rebounds. This victory shows that the Lions don't rely on just one person to bring the big scoring numbers but that all players contribute and can generate plays. Â
