Lions travel to face the Hostos Caimans
The Lions traveled to face the Hostos Caimans in a game where the Lions come off a very solid victory against Kingsborough, while Hostos had a closely fought loss against ASA. Both teams came to play this evening as they both played solid defense against each other limiting offensive opportunities and capabilities. Hostos however was able to exit the first half with a five point lead as the score sat at 30-35. The five point lead in the first half proved enough as even though the Lions were able to perform better than they did in the first half actually outscoring the Caimans it would not be enough as the Lions fell in a close game with the final score being 67-69. What appeared to be a significant struggle for the Lions was in the rebounding department as they were out rebounded through the course of the game 28 to 47 which allowed for second chance points against the Lions as well as limit their second chance opportunities. The Lions standout performers were Sahdique Watkins who led the Lions scoring with 16 points, then there was Darius Young who provided 13 points of his own as well as recording 4 rebounds and 2 steals. Then there was Shabue Mosley who recorded 10 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals. Lastly Ahunna Okoko provided the Lions with 7 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals. The Lions record currently is 6-3 as they look forward towards the Montgomery College Holiday Tournament.
