The Lions headed to New Jersey to take on Raritan Valley Community College for a Thursday night matchup. The Lions headed into the matchup having lost their two previous game while Raritan had lost it's first four games of the season, both teams looked to change their early season misfortunes and get into the win column. The first two sets saw the Lions come out of the gate slow and struggle as Raritan managed to jump out ahead while the Lions managed to score and remain competitive they dropped the first two sets to Raritan 25-17 and 25-12. The third set saw the Lions adjust be competitive and bounce back from their first two sets as they were able to win the third set 27-25. The Lions however were unable to make a comeback as they saw Raritan were able to prevent a Lions comeback as they managed to win the fourth set and in turn the match as they won the set 25-19. The Lions dropped to 0-3 on the season.
