Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse | | Maria Paolillo

#1-Ranked Men's Lacrosse on a 3 Game Win Streak

(Accord, NY) On Sunday, the #1-Ranked Nassau Men's Lacrosse team traveled to a neutral site to compete against Tompkins Cortland. It was humid but overcast, making for perfect game day conditions.

It didn't take the Lions long to take hold of the game as they have with their past two match ups. They quickly jumped to a 9-1 lead after the first quarter. Going into halftime, Nassau led 13-2.

The Lions continued to extend the lead and held Tompkins to just 1 additional goal in the second half. After the third quarter the game was 18-2, and the final was 24-3. The win brings the undefeated Nassau team to a 3 game winning streak as they continue the season.

Leading scorer for Nassau was Pat McAleavey with 8 goals and Conor Haag was just behind him with 5. Skyler Wilde added 3 goals and an assist. Kamryn Gill and Tim Brockwell each had a goal and two assists, while Jack Pucci contributed 3 assists.

The defense made up of Antoine Campbell, Vin Deceglia, Brian Lake, Mike Spitaletta, Tyler Darrell and Kali White Jr. had an excellent game in front of goalie Luke Mignoli who had numerous stops on goal.

Head Coach John Savage commented after the game, "I thought our men played hard for four solid quarters. We played tough lacrosse, we swarmed every ground ball, forced turnovers and capitalized on those opportunities. Each game is just another chance to compete against an opponent in another colored jersey. The men are happy to be out there playing the sport they love, which is all that matters at the end of the day."

The Lions will be back in action at home tomorrow, Tuesday, April 13th as they ready to take on Sussex. The game will be live streamed starting at 3:30 PM ET on nassaulions.com.
