Box Score (Garden City, NY) On their home pitch tonight, the Nassau Lions suited up against the Suffolk Sharks for the second time in the last two weeks. Coming off of a 0-2 loss to the Sharks previously, the Lions knew they had to be aggressive and they did just that.

From the very beginning, the Lions dominated. With 29 minutes to go in the first half, Freshman Forward Kara Deblaiso launched the ball into the back of the net getting the Lions on the scoreboard. She almost scored again around the 8:30 mark barely skimming the top of the crossbar. The score was 1-0 going into the locker room for halftime.

In the second half, Nassau had a free kick after a penalty. Kelly Fogarty kicked for the Lions and soared the ball over everyone including the Suffolk goalie for goal number 2 of the night. The Lions continued to battle out the rest of the game, playing tough defense and denying Suffolk of any meaningful looks at the goal. The final score was 2-0, Nassau.

Other outstanding players of the game included Freshman Defender Karina Hernandez who blocked a goal after the Sharks had a corner kick.
