The Lions took on the #6 nationally ranked Monroe- Bronx in a matchup that saw the Lions fight till the end. Coming into the match up Monroe- Bronx was has won their last three games while the Lions have dropped two of their last three contests. The first quarter saw the Lions able to weather Monroe and find success through their fierce defense. After the first quarter the Lions were in the lead by a score of 15-13. The second quarter saw Monroe take control in the paint and utilize their size to get good looks at the basket. Although the Lions had given up the lead they were able to keep it in a manageable range as the score heading into halftime was 34-31. The second half saw both teams focus more on defense as they had settled in and made key adjustments. Monroe had added on to their lead in the third quarter but the Lions tried to fight in the fourth quarter they were able to cut into the lead and get it close but every time it seemed the Lions would take the lead back Monroe would manage to string together a few baskets to keep the Lions at bay.
