The Lions hosted the Dutchess Falcons in the Region XV playoffs quarterfinal game. This game would be the third meeting between the two teams with their latest matchup coming just three days prior and saw the Lions make a late game comeback and win by two. Dutchess looked to desperately get the monkey that is is the Lions off of their back and advance to the Region XV Semifinal while the Lions looked to come out and prove that their latest victory wasn't a fluke and punch their ticket to the next round as well. The beginning of the game much like the last one was back and forth with baskets being exchanged. The energy was through the roof as cheers would echo through the gym after every basket from both Dutchess and Nassau fans. Both teams seemed equally match however a late first half basket gave the Lions the lead going into half by a score of 34-32. The second half saw the same as the first as both teams were exchanging baskets and defensive plays. However in the final seconds
Keyshawn Kennedy secured a missed free throw leading to him getting fouled in which he converted both of his free throws and saw the Lions go up by three. The falcons then threw up a 3-pointer that looked on target with hopes of sending the game into overtime however it hit the rim and bounced away with the Lions securing the rebound, 66-63 victory, and punching their ticket to the Playoff Semifinal where they will see the tournament host team and the #2 seed Monroe- Bronx Express Saturday February, 26 at 4 PM.
