The Lions hosted the Suffolk County Sharks for a Saturday matchup. The Lions entered the game having dropped their last two previous games against Suffolk and ASA while the Sharks entered the matchup having tied their previous game against ASA. The Lions started the game on the back foot as the Sharks managed to put up three runs in the top of the1st inning however they were able to bounce back as in the bottom of the 2nd inning they scored four runs then added another in the bottom of the 4th inning. The Sharks would respond with a run in the top of the 6th. They would then add another run to tie the game in the top of the 7th inning. With the game tied at 5 in the bottom of the seventh The Lions would win the game with a walk off in the bottom of the seventh to win the game 6-5. Some Lions Top performers were Vinny Rutigliano as he went 2-4 with 2 RBI's and 1 Run.
Nick Sampogna who went 3-4 with 2 runs.
Anthony Lamar who went 2-3 with 2 RBI's.
James Capozzi also pitched 5 and 2/3 innings with 8 strikeouts.
Game 2
Game 2 of this double header continued the great play as both teams were on a roll scoring early and often. Both teams scored in the first three innings of this matchup as but at the end of the third it was the Sharks that were up by a score of 6-4. The Lions would be held to just three runs for the rest of the game as the sharks were able to maintain their level of play with adding four more runs to hand the Lions a 10-7 defeat. Julio Lizardo who went 2-4 with 2 RBI's, 1 run, including a Homerun.
Anthony Lamar went 1-2 with 3 runs. Chris McGuggart went 3-3 with a double and a triple as well as recording a run.
