The Nassau Community College women's basketball team defeated LaGuardia Community College by a score of 57-56 on Thursday evening.

How it Happened

• LaGuardia opened the game with six points before consecutive three-pointers from Nykia Robinson and Samantha Marshall tied the game for Nassau.
• After the first quarter, both teams continued to trade points, as no team led by more than three points in the second quarter. The game was tied 30-30 at the half.
• Nassau led by six points with seven minutes remaining in the game, but LaGuardia continued to battle back. The Red Hawks hit free throws to narrow the lead to one point, but a steal but Destiny Jackson with 48 seconds left helped to secure the win for Nassau.
• Nassau forced 27 turnovers, good for 19 points of their own.

• Kirina Azemar led the team in points with 25, and totaled six assists, three rebounds, and three steals.
• Nykia Robinson contributed 11 points, including two three-pointers, with four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
• Taylah Farquharson totaled nine points, seven rebounds, and three steals.
• Destiny Jackson led Nassau in rebounds with 13, along with five points and two steals.
