How it happened

• NCC fell behind 2-1 midway through the first quarter but rallied to score four of the next five goals (5-3).
• The hosts won the second quarter, 3-1, and took an 8-4 lead into halftime. 
• A five-goal third quarter extended Nassau's lead to seven goals (13-6), and at the final buzzer it was a 15-9 victory for #2 Nassau. 
• NCC outshot DuPage 52-26 and held a 47-36 advantage in ground balls. 
• The Lions won 17 of 28 face offs in the contest.

• Nassau qualifies for the NJCAA National Championship for the 53rd time having won a record 23 titles. 
• NCC's last national championship victory came in 2022. In 2023, the Lions were defeated in the final by Harford Community College.
