The Nassau Community College baseball team won both games of a Region XV doubleheader, 11-1 and 10-0, against Queensborough Community College on Saturday, April 27.
The victories ensure the Lions complete a four-game sweep of the Tigers having secured 16-5 and 12-5 wins in Queens on April 23 and 26, respectively.
Game 1: NCC 11, QCC 1 (5 innings)
- Ryan Johnston went 2-for-3 with 2 doubles, 5 RBIs, 2 runs, and a stolen base.
- Marcello Arrigo went 2-for-2 with a double, 2 runs, and three stolen bases.
- Winning pitcher Joseph Lynn pitched all five innings, struck out nine batters, and allowed four hits.
- Lynn also went 2-for-2 at the plate with a double and an RBI.
Game 2: NCC 10, QCC 0 (5 innings)
- Arrigo went 4-for-4 with a home run, 3 triples, 2 RBIs, and 3 runs.
- Sean Richards: 2-for-3, home run, triple, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs.
- Winning pitcher, James Reilly: 3.0 IP, 4 strikeouts, and 1 hit.
