Result

The Nassau Community College men's basketball team defeated Kingsborough Community College by a score of 70-62 on Thursday evening. The Lions improve to 11-5 overall, and 9-4 in Region XV play.

How it Happened

• Both teams traded points for the majority of the first half before a 9-2 run by Nassau helped to open their lead. Kingsborough closed the gap entering halftime to make it a five point game at the break, 33-28 in favor of the Lions.
• The Wave came within one point with 15:13 remaining in the second half, but Nassau then went on a 12-0 scoring run to take control of the game, and the lead would hold through the final whistle.
• Kingsborough outrebounded Nassau 49-33, but the Lions held a better shooting percentage from the field. Kingsborough shot 18-30 from the free throw line, which proved to be the difference in the game.

Notes

• Donte Howard led Nassau with 25 points, along with six rebounds, three assists, and two steals.
• Sean Walsh scored 16 points, with four three-pointers.
• Sebastian Bernard added 11 points, with three rebounds and four assists.
